Shiretoko-Goko Guide Walk

Shiretoko-Goko (Shiretoko five lakes) is one of the most famous scenic spots in Shiretoko. Numbers of people visit there without appreciating the real beautifulness of the virgin forest. What a pity!
It must be much more fun if they take time to look for tracks or signs of wild animals such as shika-deer and brown bears, and have a relaxing time listening to the sound of the forest with the eyes closed. Our interpreter, or nature guide, support you to feel the spirit of Nature in Shiretoko.

*Shiretoko-Goko trail might be occasionally closed because of brown bear appearence. In case the trail further than the Third Lake is closed, the trekking will be up to the Second Lake. In case all the trail is closed, the tour will be cancelled.

Utoro town --(25min. drive)--> Shiretoko-Goko parking --> Trail Walking (about 2.5 hrs) --> Shiretoko-Goko parking --> (25min. drive) --> Utoro town

Furepe Fall Guide Walk

Okhotsk side of Shiretoko peninsula mostly consists of steep cliff whose hight is more than 100 meters.
Furepe Fall is one of curious falls which spout out at the middle of the cliff and run into the sea. Walking along the trail through a spacious grass field to the fall, you will see beautiful Shiretoko Mountains. You may also meet wild animals in the field. Especially, the appearence rate of Ezo-Shika deer is more than 90%!

[Meeting]: 1:00pm At the entrance of Furepe Fall trail (beside of Shiretoko Nature Center)

Sea Kayak Tour

Sea kayak is a very handy boat developed for hunting by Inuit living in the extreme north. Beginners will be surprised at its stableness.
On the Kayak, you'll see Shiretoko wilderness just as the sea-birds do. Enjoy Kayaking on calm Okhotsk Sea in summer time!

Shiretoko Night Theater

The night in Shiretoko is very misterious. In the silence, we may unexpectedly find animals in the spot light. The fox are looking for food, and the groups of deer are moving in the forest. We may feel that we became one of the night animals. In the dark sky, the countless stars with the Milky Way remind us of our history from the ancestors.

Salmon Watching

In late autumn, salmons and trouts come back to their birth-rivers in Shiretoko after four years of their journey all around the northern sea.
They go up the river for spawning with all the might, and end their lives there. They look very touching and very impressive!
